For now this site will focus on my graduate research projects at the University of New Hampshire on winter spinach production in unheated high tunnels, and the cultivation of day-neutral strawberries under low tunnels during the summer and fall months. The 'Strawberry Blog' will provide a step-by-step chronicle of day-neutral strawberry installation and production under low-tunnels here at the University of New Hampshire for those interested in using day-neutral cultivars or low-tunnel season-extension systems. (We promise to tell you all our mistakes!)
Whether you are a grower or gardener, I hope our research helps to provide concrete information and tips on new cultivation systems or varietals. Identifying practices, cultivation systems, and varieties that maximize profitability by improving quality, yield, and season duration, are ever-present objects in our work at UNH to support New England agriculture.
